Gary Farrell
Attention all oenophiles! Be on the lookout for this label:

It was just amazing: dark berries, plums, beautiful spices, a certain smokiness. Beautiful on the nose and palate, with a nice finish. A perfect example of a very forward, assertive but accomplshed California pinot. Very, very nice. Actually, I found a description on the web that couldn't have said it better:
" A dazzling array of dark berries, peppery spice and smoky aromas lead to huge expressions of blackberry, plum and spice on the palate. Luscious oak and moderate, incredibly well fit tannins follow, with precise acidity completing the package and promising tremendous longevity for this youthful wine under optimum cellaring conditions."
The 2001 is also pretty damned good.
