While I'm at it...

I should also mention the bottle of Vintage Tunina that I yanked out of the wine fridge the other night for a dinner with the wife, the Good Rabbi and Rosalind at Pop's. I bought 7 or 8 2001s about a year and a half ago. I polished off a few within a couple of months but left the rest to age a bit. And I am so glad I did. The smoothness and coherence of a year ago has only deepened, and the result is an even more accomplished wine. This is one of my absolute favorite Northern Italian whites.

So when will it peak? That is the question now.

I'm afraid that the only sensible solution is to buy 20 or so more bottles of the 2001 vintage and then test one every 3 or so months.

While I'm at it I should buy heavily into the ...1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003,... vintages. If only to check the robustness of the 2001 results. You know: it's all about insuring the scientific integrity of the process.
