Poor Simon Schama
All jokes about Simon Schama aside, my recent spate of videos at his expense reminded me to take care of an unfinished piece of business: the final episode of his Power of Art series. The episode is concerned with the work of Mark Rothko, and is simply stunning. If you don't get abstract art on an emotive level, this episode will go a long way toward getting you where you need to be. I cannot recommend the series, or the accompanying book, enough.
I have ordered his History of Britain series, and eagerly await its arrival. The man is a genius of a lecturer.
