And We're Off
The obligatory fiddling with Movable Type is done. I have opted for a much cleaner, "lighter" look (I hope) for this latest incarnation of Aging Disgracefully.
I actually have an email address at aging-disgracefully.com that came with the account, and I will probably put up an email link to it. However, I hope that it gets comparatively little use. At the old site, I received approximately 1.5 emails per post, and only the Good Rabbi (a sick, sick man, but a reliable one-trick pony if ever there was one) routinely posted comments. This vexed me for quite some time (though not all the time: for a few months I'd actually shut down comments). I want most of the dialogue at this new site to occur in the comment sections.
Here are some other changes I'm hoping for:
1. That the serious posts will receive as much attention as the satiric ones.
2. That the discussion will be a bit more enlightenting. I got a real kick out of the emails responding to posts to the old site that were in the tradition of the old joke from Northern Ireland about the guy who drives 100 miles out of his way just to receive an insult.
In the next few hours, I will be transferrrng old film reviews and recipes to this site. I prefer to have them close at hand.
